Criminal Background Check Information
Please be advised that Costa Mesa Little League obtains criminal background checks and Live Scan fingerprinting for volunteers including:
- Managers
- Assistant Coaches
- Board Members
- Other Volunteers identified by law
Additionally, any volunteer and/or hired workers who provide regular services to or who have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams will be subject to a criminal background check.
The criminal background checks are conducted annually and include a state and federal criminal history with sex offender information. It does not include a subsequent arrest notification after the background check has been completed.
Depending on the information provided by individual states, some background checks are conducted by name only. If an applicant’s name matches a criminal record or a name on a registry in one of these states, the applicant will be notified of the match. Please note this notification is required by law and does not mean the criminal record is now associated with your personal information.
For additional information about Costa Mesa American Little League’s background check policy, please contact Costa Mesa Little League or JDP’s Consumer Center at (844) 899-9424.
Pursuant to California State Law, Article 3 (commencing with Section 11100) of Chapter 1 of Title 1 of Part 4 of the Penal Code, criminal history information is used internally. Confidential criminal history information is not disclosed to the public.
