Important Note for Minor C Teams (Coach Pitch Games)
At this time, the GameChanger scorekeeping app does not have a built-in feature that fully supports coach pitching.
However, there are several approved workarounds that allow scorekeepers to record at-bats without adding pitches to a player’s pitch count.
Workaround Options
Workaround 1 (Simplest Option)
- Do not record the pitches thrown by the coach.
- Only score the final pitch needed to complete the at-bat (ball in play, strikeout, walk, etc.).
Workaround 2 (Manual Override)
- Once the count reaches ball three, use the Manual Override feature from the Game Menu.
- This allows you to score the fourth ball for the player without officially walking the batter.
Workaround 3 (Placeholder Coach Pitcher)
- Create a placeholder player that represents the coach.
- Sub this placeholder into the game as the pitcher when the coach comes in to complete an at-bat.
- Use the Override feature in the Game Menu to reset the pitch count (or number of balls).
- This override does not affect the player’s pitch count.
- Once the at-bat is complete, sub the original pitcher back into the game.
Important: GameChanger does not currently track batting statistics against specific pitchers.
As a result, stats cannot be separated between at-bats where a coach pitched and at-bats where a player pitched.
Video Tutorial
- Watch the video tutorial on how to score coach pitch games in baseball or softball.
Note: These workarounds can be complicated during live gameplay.
In some cases, scorekeepers may find it easier to track coach-pitch at-bats using pen and paper and update GameChanger as needed.
Share Lineup w/ Opponent (Recommended)
GameChanger allows teams to share and scan starting lineups using a QR code. This saves time and reduces lineup entry errors.
This feature is especially helpful when time is limited before the game.
Pitching Affidavit
Pitch tracking is a key responsibility in Upper Divisions. GameChanger pitching data is often used to complete pitching affidavits after the game.

Final Notes
- One scorekeeper per team is recommended.
- Accuracy matters, but perfection is not expected. Mistakes can be corrected in GameChanger.
- Use “Practice Scoring a Game” in the app to learn before your first live game.
